OCT (OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY)

Optical coherence tomography, or O.C.T., is a test where a scan of the retina is obtained that details the structure of the layers of the retina. By doing so, any areas of swelling, scarring, or disruption of the layers of the retina can be detected. The test can be used to monitor the healing of the retina over time as it is being treated in the clinic. The test takes only about one minute.
